Electrosteel Steel Ltd - ESL Steel

ESL Steel Limited, formerly Electrosteel Steels Limited, is an integrated steel producer based in Bokaro, Jharkhand, originally set up as a public limited company in 2006. Vedanta Limited took over management control in June 2018 through the Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process, the mechanism set up to resolve stressed loans in the Indian banking system. The company runs an integrated production facility with capacity for around 2.5 million tonnes annually, built around sinter plants, coke ovens, blast furnaces, oxygen plants, basic oxygen furnaces, billet casters, wire rod mills, bar mills, ductile-iron-pipe plants and a captive power plant. Its product range spans pig iron, billets, TMT bars, wire rods and ductile iron pipes. The company was renamed from Electrosteel Steels Limited to ESL Steel Limited on 26 September 2020, and it operates within established environmental norms while drawing on technology and expertise from established global manufacturers.
