LAVA International Limited

Lava International Limited is an Indian consumer-electronics company built around designing, manufacturing and distributing mobile devices. Incorporated on 27 March 2009, it was founded by Hari Om Rai, Vishal Sehgal, Shailendra Nath Rai and Sunil Bhalla as a natural extension of their earlier telecom venture. The product line spans smartphones, feature phones, tablets and other digital devices. Headquartered in Noida, Lava has a presence across several overseas markets, including Nepal, Bangladesh, Thailand, Indonesia, Mexico, Sri Lanka and parts of the Middle East. It has built fairly strong in-house design capability — industrial, mechanical, hardware and software — that lets it handle product design and manufacturing without leaning heavily on outside partners. Often cited as an early mover in the "Design in India" and "Make in India" push, Lava keeps end-to-end product development and manufacturing based in the country.
