Parag Parikh Financial Advisory Services Ltd. (PPFAS) got its start in 1992 in Mumbai, offering advisory and transaction services on the BSE before expanding to the NSE. By 1996, it had become one of the first Indian firms licensed to offer Portfolio Management Services. Its flagship PMS scheme, Cognito, has been closed to new clients for well over a decade — a reflection of the firm's fairly selective, long-term approach to managing money. PPFAS also sponsors PPFAS Mutual Fund, which launched its first scheme in May 2013. The fund house now runs around five to six schemes, including the well-known Parag Parikh Flexi Cap Fund, an ELSS Tax Saver Fund, a Liquid Fund, a Conservative Hybrid Fund and an Arbitrage Fund.
